Conflict mediation

Mediation is a method of reconciling a conflict between two or more parties with the goal of resolving the conflict to the satisfaction of everyone involved.

Mediation procedures have two main advantages: they reduce costs (e.g. by avoiding legal conflicts) and create results from the parties own strength, whereby the mediator reasonably considers the interests of the quarrelling parties.
This can conserve or even enhance the coherence and makes the parties realise that even difficult conflicts can be resolved in a constructive way. Normally, conflicts are resolved quicker than within the scope of formal legal disputes and the impairment of the relationship between the quarrelling parties can be avoided.

Successful mediation requires the willingness of all conflicting parties to accept a mediation procedure and to compromise. No legal disputes may be initiated simultaneously with mediation; if they have already been initiated, they must be stayed for the duration of the mediation.
